The book is in like new condition. I purchased the book back in 1996 at the beautiful "Bunch Of Grapes " bookstore on marthas vineyard. i was very happy to meet the R&B legend. ms. brown idolized by the likes of little richard and one of the biggest influence of Bonnie Raitt and so many others. Now in my 70s it is time to let go of some treasures. Besides being a rand b treasure she was the act that had taken atlantic records to court and was finally able to break their back for years of financially mistreating acts out of millions of deserved royalties.a great read of the old r&b circuit even on touching how they were treated differently simply because of the color of their skin. the book is not personalized and would make a great gift for the music buff.
